Mary Ellen Capek, PhD
 
  Mary Ellen Capek is lead author of Effective Philanthropy: Organizational Success through Deep Diversity and Gender Equality (MIT Press, 2006), winner of the 2007 Independent Sector/ARNOVA Virginia Hodgkinson Research Prize for the Best Book on Philanthropy and the Nonprofit Sector that Informs Policy and Practice.  She currently serves as senior advisor to the Diversity in Philanthropy Project, a national collaborative funded by the California Endowment, W.K.Kellogg Foundation, Atlantic Philanthropies, Ford Foundation, and others that works to institutionalize deep diversity across the philanthropic sector.  See her  Web Site.
